The Nassau Area Service Committee (NASC) meets at 12:30 pm on the first Sunday of every month on Zoom (see minutes for ID & password) and in person at the Parkway Community Church, 95 Stewart Ave, Hicksville.

 

The Nassau Area Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Subcommittee meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 95 Stewart Ave, Hickville.

7:30 PM orientation
8:00 subcommittee meeting.

No clean time required to get the orientation and six months required to get a commitment. (Nassau County Correctional & New Hope require 1 year clean time) 

 

The Public Relations subcommittee meets at 7:00 PM on the third Thursday of every month on Zoom. See Area Minutes for Meeting ID & Password.

The Nassau Area NA PR Subcommittee is in need of volunteers who are willing and able to help us to facilitate the following public information services during an afternoon, evening or Saturday morning:

(a) To educate students about NA at school presentations or sit at a table at a community health fair to allow the public to obtain NA pamphlets and meeting lists;

(b) To sit at a table with another to allow the public to obtain NA pamphlets and meeting lists at Narcan training table sittings;

(c) To participate in a poster hanging day from 10am-12pm to hang up small posters, with permission of the establishment, in store windows in different towns/cities in the Nassau Area.

Clean Time Requirements to volunteer at the abovementioned events in Nassau Area:

– one (1) day clean to participate in a poster hanging day
– six (6) months clean to help with a table sitting
– one (1) year clean to participate in a NA presentation at a school

The Nassau Area Events and Activities (E&A) Subcommittee is currently paused. All are welcome ! See Flyers for their upcoming events. Support your local E&A events. If you have any suggestions for an E&A event please contact the E&A Chair, or any member of the E&A committee. E&A needs support in the subcommittee. If you have any fund raising ideas please come to the meeting. There is no clean time requirement to do service.

The Nassau Area Convention Narcotics Anonymous Subcommittee meets at 7:00 pm on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Parkway Community Church, 95 Stewart Ave, Hicksville.

 

Regional Committee Member (formerly known as the ASR): The RCM is our link to the Eastern NY Regional Service Committee (ENYRSC) and the ENYRSC’s link to the NASC. The RCM is responsible for providing information on the activities within our region, to report any regional information relevant to NASC affairs, and inform the ASC on issues being discussed and/or voted on at various levels of service. The RCM is a voting member of the Regional Service Committee. The RCM works closely with the Regional Delegate. Alternate RCM: Assists the RCM in gathering information from the region, and ensures all points of view are properly presented to the ASC. The Alternate RCM may vote at ENYRSC meetings and give reports to the ASC in the RCM’s absence.
